Welcome and thank you for using Kiro Pets. The help area is designated for members new to old, to help them use our service.
What is Kiro Pets?
Kiropets is a virtual pet site where you can adopt an already created virtual pet or create your own virtual pets. Kiro Pets opened in December 2003 and has served over 20 thousand members since it opened.
Why join Kiro Pets?
Kiro Pets has a broad selection of things to do. You can create your own pet and watch it grow. Teach it new things, train it to grow and be the best. You can later battle your pets against others in the Battle temple, play games to earn KP, make your own clubs, participate in missions, and much more!
How do I create a pet?
To create a pet, simply click on the Create Pet link in the navigation bar or hit Register on the home page. You have several different choices of what type of pet in which to create.
What options do I have when creating a pet?
When creating a pet, you have the options of naming the pet and choosing its color. But remember, you can't use a name if it's already in use. Your pet's name can only be made up of letters and numbers.
How do I support my pet?
Your Kiro Pet needs to be supported with food, toys, and books.
Food: Food can be purchased at shops and stalls in the different worlds, or it can be purchased from other users. Your pet cannot die of hunger but it is a good idea to keep your pet fully nourished.
Toys: Toys can be purchased at shops and stalls in the different worlds, or it can be purchased from other users. It is important to play with your pets to keep their mood up.
Books: Books can be purchased at shops and stalls in the different worlds, or it can be purchased from other users. Reading books to your pet increases their intelligence. It will take several books to increase your pet's intelligence 1 level.
What is KP?
KP stands for Kiro Points. Kiro Points are the currency used on Kiropets.
How can I increase my KP?
Kiro Points can be increased in each of the following ways:
Games: Games are located in the navigation bar. You have a choice between game that are simply luck and give out Kiro Points and action games. The time between each play on KP games is 8 minutes (except for the lottery). Each action game can be played 3 times per day.
Your User Shop: My Shop is another great way to earn Kiro Points. Simply put in items that you have acquired, set a reasonable price and wait for other users to purchase your items.
The Bidding Hall: To put an item into the bidding hall, go to My Items in the sidebar. Once there select the item you wish to put up for auction. Once you have selected your item, click on the drop down menu and select Put Into The Bidding Hall. Next, enter how what increments you would like the bids to be in and the starting price. Then wait for people to bid on your auction and your auction to end.
Random Events: Random events are events that occur occasionally and can hand out any number of Kiro Points.
Missions: To start a mission, click on Missions in the sidebar. When there, the Venorm will ask you if you will help get some items. Click the Yes, I Will Help You! option to start. After doing so you can view the items under Items Needed To Complete Mission. There is no time limit on missions so you can take your time. If you cannot get the items that are requested, you may click on the Leave Now option. This will send you back to the beginning mission screen where you can request a new mission.
Contests: There are many different types of contests are offered periodically on Kiropets. To view the current contests, click on Contests on the sidebar.
Give KP: You can also gain Kiro Points if you are given Kiro Points by another user. The Give KP option is only available for a
limited time. Keep an eye out in the News!
Why do I need KP?
Kiro Points are needed if you wish to buy items, use the hospital, or train your pet and to generally care for you pet. You have to decide what you spend your KP on, whether it be on games or whether you buy food for your pet. Remember caring for your pet should be your prime objective however you can balance your own fun whilst on the website.
What is the Battle Temple and what can I do there?
The battle temple is a place where you can use your virtual pet to battle against other virtual pets. To get to the battle temple, click on Battle Temple in the sidebar. Once there, you have the option of battling another user or a computer opponent. If you wish to battle another user, they must be online in order to do battle.
If the member is not online, goes offline or doesn't accept your battle request you must withdraw from the battle via the Status area.
Why do I need the Battle Temple ?
The battle temple allows you to test your pet's strengths and weaknesses against other users and also against the computer. It also allows you to test the weapons that you have acquired on Kiropets.
How can I strengthen my Pet?
To strengthen your pet click on Gym in the navigation bar. Once there, select New Course. Then, choose you pet and what you wish to train in. The course will cost anywhere between 1KP to 1000 KP and will take 30 minutes. After your 30 minutes are up, click Status and then click Finish.
What is KiroCare?
KiroCare is a place that will take care of your pet's needs for up to 60 days for a fee of 250 KP per day. To get to KiroCare, click on Kirocare in the sidebar. Once there, select Enroll In KiroCare. Then, select which pets you would like to enroll and for what period of time you would like them to be enrolled.
Can I start my own club?
Yes. To create a club, select Members Clubs in the sidebar. Then, select Create a Club. You then have options for your Club name, description, logo, and admin levels.
What happens if I want a new pet?
If you would like another pet and have less than four, simply click on Create Pet in the sidebar. You can also go to the Orphanage and adopt a pre-loved pet. If you already have four pets, you must sadly go to the Orphanage and disown one of your pets before you will be allowed to create another one; there is a four pet limit.
What is Kiro Mail?
Kiro Mail is the messaging service used on Kiro Pets. To access Kiro Mail, click on Kiro Mail in the sidebar. Once there you have the option to send another user a message or receive messages from other users. Once finished with your messages, ensure not to keep them too long or your inbox will get full. When your inbox fills you are unable to receive new messages.
How do I Lock/Unlock My Kiro Mailbox?
Lock the Kiro Mailbox by visiting the Lock page, entering a password and hitting the lock button. From then on, the account will be restricted from all access to their mailbox until the mailbox is unlocked again (a great feature for parents who would like to control what their children are reading!) To unlock the mailbox, merely visit the same page again, enter in your previously appointed password, and hit the unlock button. Presto, all access is returned :)
What is the Friends List?
The Friends List is a list where you can add users that you consider friends. The friends list is located at Friends List in the sidebar. It can also be accessed through the Kiro Mail page. A user must be on your friends list in order to send them items.
Why should I read news?
The news contains important updates about the site. It is updated on a regular basis. To get to the new page click on News in the sidebar. When there is new news that you have not yet viewed, the notice "there is new news" will appear at the top of every page until you read it.
How can I adjust settings in my account?
Your account settings can be adjusted by clicking on Edit Profile in the sidebar. Here, you can edit your profile, change your e-mail address, change your account password and more. To adjust your settings on the forums, click on Forums from the side bar then click Forum Settings.
What are the forums used for?
The forums are used to communicate with other users of Kiro Pets. To get to the forums click on Forums in the sidebar. Here the forums are divided into several categories. Select the category you wish to post in and you can either create a new topic or reply to a present topic.
Are there rules to follow on Kiropets?
Yes. Kiro Pets has Rules or Terms of Service to ensure all play on Kiro Pets is fair to all members participating. No member is exempt or excluded from following the rules and must stay updated with them even if they change.
Rules can accessed by clicking Rules in the sidebar. A violation of these rules could result in a warning or a permanent freezing of your account. For more information about the way Kiro Pets is run, members should read the Rules from the sidebar.
What is the bank and how does it operate?
The bank is a place that allows you to store you Kiro Points. Your Kiro Points gain 1% of interest daily while they are in the bank. Interest must be collected daily in order to collect your interest in Kiro Points. However you must collect your interest everyday or it will be lost.
For example, if you have 100 KP in your bank account, it will earn per day:
100 x 0.01 = 1 KP
Over a period of a week you have the potential to earn if collected each day:
100 x 0.01 x 7 = 7 KP
If you have 10,000 KP in your bank account, you will earn per day:
10,000 x 0.01 = 100 KP
Over a period of a week you have the potential to earn if collected each day:
10,000 x 0.01 x 7 = 700 KP
This is a way for members to make more KP. To access the bank, click on Shops in the sidebar and then click on Bank. Tip: Put as much KP as possible into your Bank account before collecting it, then collect your interest for the whole value.
How do I collect items?
Items can be collect in a number of ways:
Main Shops: To access the main shops click on Shops in the sidebar. Here, you can collect: food, books, electronics, toys, furniture, battle items, magic items, and specialty items.
User Shops: Nearly all users have their own shops with items for sale. To search user shops, click on Shops in the sidebar. When there, select Search.
The Bidding Hall: The bidding hall is a great place to outbid another user for an item. To get to the bidding hall, click on Bidding Hall in the sidebar.
Exchange Market: The Exchange Market allows you to get another user's items in exchange for some of your items or KP. To get to the exchange market, click on Exchange Market in the sidebar.
Clubs: Some clubs will give out items in newbie packs or in contests.
Contests: Sometimes, Kiro Pets will offer a contest in which there will be an item for a prize.
Why are their ads on Kiro Pets?
The ads are a necessity for Kiropets. They help to maintain and pay for the site. Without them, the site would have no funding.
How can I get more help?
Members and guests should NOT contact moderators or staff members for assistance unless contacted by them first or asked to on the forums. Members should browse the Forums for help first, and then make a post for assistance as required. In the event no reply is made in 48 hours, a member may contact a moderator with the address or URL to the thread for assistance.
At no time should a staff member be contacted for "how to" help. In the event serious errors or problems occur on the website, members should use the Contact Us link found in the navigation bar.
Can I be a Moderator or Staff Member on Kiro Pets?
Please do not contact us about becoming a member of staff or a moderator. If we think you have what it takes, we will contact you. Contacting us may result in disappointment. If you have positions open in Kiro Pets they are listed in the Forums under General.
Why can't I logout?
This is a local issue related to your browsers temporary internet files. The logout button removes the
cookie which logs you out, but your web browser is loading the pages from the temporary internet files instead of from the server. You
can fix this in Internet Exploer by going to Tools, Internet Options, under Temporary Internet Files press Settings, then change the
option to "Every visit to the page".
How do I get a "flash player" to play the games?
You can download the official flash player for free at http://store.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer
Someone is abusing the site. What can I do?
You can report site abuse by using the contact us form.
Someone is asking for my password or personal information. What should I do?
Firstly do not delete the message! Contact our abuse department straight away by contacting User Abuse on the contact us form and supply a copy of the message and the URL (address from the address bar) to the message. For more
