Introduction

Kiro Pets is a service open to members of all ages and geographic locations. We encourage the development of social and life skills amongst our members by providing a simulation service in which a member can care for a virtual pet.

For members to use our service, we have set down guidelines to ensure the time spent is enjoyable for all who use our service. It is for this reason we have a terms of service policy to govern the way the service operates. This ensures all our members are able to participate in our service in a safe and fair environment.

In the event the guidelines set out in this policy are broken or violated, we reserve the right to take action against offenders to ensure our members maintain a safe, secure and fair playing environment. This may involve a warning, account suspension (frozen account) or banning from our service and/or server. The members of our staffing team will decide the appropriate action to take, and is to be supported by the community.

 

Terms of Service

The following are not allowed on our services:

1. Inappropriate comments, remarks or images/graphics including but not limited swearing and foul language, or are not appropriate for all ages. This includes pet names, usernames, posts, KiroMail, etc. This also includes creative or manipulative spelling to form inappropriate words or meaning.

2. The posting of links unrelated to Kiro Pets with the exception of "Help Sites" or sites designed to render assistance. Links must only be displayed in appropriate locations. Kiro Pets takes all due care however takes no responsibility for the accuracy or appropriateness of links to external sites.

3. Spamming in all forms and mediums. Spamming is the sending of unsolicited messages in the form of emails, posts or instant messages that are annoying, time wasting, illegal and/or serve no purpose. This includes but is not limited to the forums, KiroMail, clubs and public postings. Members or members' clubs are not permitted to be advertised through spam or through mediums likely to be labelled as spam.

4. The access of unauthorized areas within our service. The scamming (deceiving to obtain an award), unauthorized access (hacking or cracking) and/or cheating of any type will not be tolerated.

5. The use of multiple accounts. This creates an unfair advantage on other members using our service and goes against providing a fair environment for play. If you wish to obtain another account, please contact a member of our staffing team and request the suspension of your old account before creating a new account.

6. Accessing another member's account or sharing an account is not allowed.

7. The intentional or unintentional tarnish of our service/s or reputation, in spirit of keeping Kiro Pets a happy and friendly environment. The noting of other similar websites or services similar to Kiro Pets and/or creating a direct contrast between such sites are not permitted.

8. The addition of unapproved chat rooms, tag boxes, shout-boxes or external advertising by members. The modifying of our service to intentionally or unintentionally create security holes will not be tolerated either.

9. The copying, redistribution, stealing or hot-linking of images or text that violates copyright or respective laws. This includes paragraphs of text, images and graphic.

10. The harassment of other members or members of our staffing team. This includes spamming, abusing and behaving in an unfriendly or inappropriate manner.

11. The use of other languages except English. Other languages are not permitted on our service in the spirit of maintaining a safe environment for our members.

 

Member Fairness and Equality

In addition to the above, in order to keep our service efficient and fair for all members, members are required to follow the below:

1. Members are to respect the position held my Staff Members and Moderators and are required to follow directions or instructions set down, requested, ordered or issued at all times.

2. Advertising your club using the Exchange Market is not permitted. You may give away "Newbie Packs" through the Exchange Market but you may not advertise your club.

3. Any attempts to make our service unfit for all ages is not permitted.

4. The placing your own advertising on our service or advertising other services is not permitted.

5. Forum topics should be placed in the appropriate forum or topic area, and should not be made in CAPITALS.

6. All images, graphics and artwork submitted to Kiro Pets become the property of Kiro Pets.

 

Frozen Account Policy

In the event a violation occurs on Kiro Pets, accounts are frozen or locked. Members normally receive anywhere between three to four warnings before an account is frozen. If an account is frozen, do not contact us to unfreeze it.

If an account is frozen, members should take at least a month's break before returning to Kiro Pets. Members can only return via a new account. If the member continues to make trouble in a new account, no warning will be give and action will be taken against the offender.

Frozen accounts will not be unfrozen.

 

Staffing Structure

The group of members assigned to play an administrative role on Kiro Pets is called the "Staffing Team". The staffing team is made up of Staff Members and Moderators only.

Staff Member: This type of member is the most senior group of the staffing team. They can control all activity on Kiro Pets and have the finial word in all decisions. They are not required to provide support to members and members should not KiroMail or attempt to contact them.

Moderator: This type of member is the go to group for members. They moderate the forums, clubs and other services on Kiro Pets. Moderators have the finial word over members and their decision must be respected.

 

Seeking Support

Members and guests should NOT contact moderators or staff members for assistance unless contacted by them first or asked to on the forums. Members should browse the forums for help first, and then make a post for assistance as required. In the event no reply is made in 48 hours, a member may contact a moderator with the address or URL to the thread for assistance.

At no time should a staff member be contacted for "how to" help. In the event serious errors or problems occur on the website, members should use the contact us link found in the navigation bar.

 

Terms of Service Violations

Violations of our Terms of Service should be reports to a moderator (/staff.php). If the violation is serious, it will be passed up the "chain of command" to a staff member by the moderator. If a violation is found to be true, moderators have the right to take action on behalf of a staff member to:

1. Protect the service

2. Protect the members and guests of the service.

When reporting a violation, one must supply as much evidence as possible. Failure to supply with evidence will result in deletion of the report and possibly a warning to the member reporting.

All appropriate action deemed required by the moderator will be taken if a violation is found to be true. Members or guests who object or attempt to riot or in anyway "cause trouble" will have action taken against them.

By accessing our server, utilizing our services or using our name, you agree you have read, understood and agree to comply with our terms of service and understand Kiro Pets reserves the right to amend, add or remove our terms of service and rules at any reason and at time, with or without warning. In the event such changes are to take place, members must ensure they comply. Kiro Pets provides a service "as is" and is not obligated to make amendments including but not limited to bugs and errors. Kiro Pets reserves the right to restrict access to its service or server for any reason what so ever.
